About the Practice

The basics.

Why don't you accept insurance?

Insurance reimbursement is built around volume — more patients, less time. This practice was built around the opposite. Remaining outside the insurance system allows us to protect the time, depth, and discretion that define the care experience here.

Superbills are available upon request for patients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary by plan; we recommend contacting your carrier before your first visit. See full pricing →

Why a monthly membership instead of paying per visit?

Because psychiatric care doesn't actually happen only inside the appointment. It happens between visits — when a medication needs adjusting, when a question can't wait until next month, when a difficult week needs a thoughtful response, or when your therapist or primary care needs to coordinate. Charging per visit forces those moments into a fee schedule. A membership simply covers them.

A monthly membership at Premier Psychiatry & Wellness includes:

  • Scheduled visits with the same physician. No rotating provider, no rebuilding rapport from scratch, no 15-minute med-check model.
  • Direct, responsive communication between appointments. Non-urgent questions, side-effect concerns, and refill needs handled without making you book another visit just to ask.
  • Active management as your treatment evolves. Dose changes, medication switches, monitoring, and adjustments handled in real time — not deferred to the next available opening.
  • Care coordination built in. Coordination with your therapist, primary care, and other specialists so everyone is working from the same plan.
  • Continuity that compounds. A physician who knows your story, has thought about it carefully over months and years, and isn't starting from scratch every appointment.
  • Priority access. Higher tiers include same-week scheduling when feasible, so when something changes you're not waiting weeks for the next available slot.
  • Discretion and privacy. No insurance utilization-review trail, no diagnosis sitting in a payer database, no third party deciding what care is "necessary."

What you're paying for is not a stack of appointments. It's an ongoing physician relationship with the time, continuity, and access to actually move things forward — billed in a single, predictable monthly fee instead of fragmented across dozens of separate charges. Who is a good fit for this practice?

Adults and adolescents 14+ seeking private, physician-led psychiatric care — particularly those who value continuity, discretion, and a whole-person approach over high-volume clinic care. Common reasons people come to us include anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, trauma, OCD, sleep concerns, and life transitions.

What ages do you see?

Adolescents age 14 and older — primarily for ADHD evaluation and management — and adults of all ages.

How do I get started?

Begin with a consultation request. Submissions are personally reviewed by Davis Crawford, DO. When the clinical profile and fit are appropriate, a $650 comprehensive evaluation is scheduled. That fee also includes 30 days of onboarding care. If fit is mutual and you elect membership, your first recurring membership charge occurs only after onboarding ends. There is no charge or commitment at the request stage.

What if I have a crisis or emergency?

This is an outpatient practice and is not appropriate for psychiatric emergencies, active suicidality requiring a higher level of care, acute psychosis, or severe untreated substance use disorder requiring intensive support.

In any emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For mental health crisis support, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.

Can I keep my current therapist?

Yes — and we encourage it when therapy is part of your care. This practice is designed to complement the work of your outpatient therapist, not to replace dedicated psychotherapy. Coordination with your therapist is part of how we work. For patients who would benefit from therapy and don't have a therapist, referrals are readily provided.

Telehealth FAQs

About virtual psychiatric care.

Is telehealth effective for psychiatric care?

Yes — for the great majority of outpatient psychiatric care, the evidence base is strong. Telehealth is well-suited for evaluation, medication management, supportive psychotherapy techniques, and ongoing follow-up. Some clinical situations may be better served by in-person care; if that's the case for you, we'll say so directly.

What technology do I need for a telehealth visit?

A laptop, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera and microphone, plus a stable internet connection. We send the secure HIPAA-compliant video link in advance — there's no app to install. A quiet, private space where you can speak openly is the most important ingredient.

Can prescriptions be managed through telehealth?

Yes. Most psychiatric medications can be prescribed and managed through telehealth in Florida. Some medications — particularly those requiring closer follow-up or enhanced monitoring — may have additional requirements or be limited to certain membership tiers. We'll discuss specifics during your evaluation.

Is this practice a good fit for me?

This practice is built for people who want a steady, long-term relationship with a single physician, value discretion and unhurried care, and are comfortable with a direct-pay membership model. If those things resonate, the practice is likely a strong fit.

If you're looking for episodic short-term care or insurance-based billing, another setting will likely serve you better. If you're not sure, a consultation request is the easiest way to find out — there's no obligation.
